Come along to our sewing group on a Friday afternoon 6-8pm.
Anything you wish to sew, perhaps an alteration which you never got around to do.
Dressmaking, cushion covers, upcycling, any number of things you can make here.
If you are new to sewing and wish to develop your skills we have, sewing machines, overlockers, coverstitch machines for you to use.
We have a maximum of 10 people in our sessions and I work around the class offering help and advice on your project.
We have dressmaking patterns, craft patterns and inspirational books free for you to read and work from.
Fabrics and haberdashery are available to purchase, we sell both cotton craft fabrics and dressmaking fabrics.
Refreshments of tea and coffee are provided too.

Workshop Requirements

If you are bringing your own machine, please make sure it is in good working order.

Come along to our sewing group on a Wednesday evening 6-8 pm.

If you are a beginner new to sewing and wish to develop your skills we have, sewing machines, overlockers, coverstitch machines for you to use.
We have a maximum of 9 people in our sessions and I work around the class offering help and advice on your project.
We have dressmaking patterns, craft patterns and inspirational books free for you to read and work from.
Fabrics and haberdashery are available to purchase, we sell both cotton craft fabrics and dressmaking fabrics.
Refreshments of tea and coffee are provided too.

We have an earlier group 3.45pm to 5.45pm as well as the later time, if you are travelling any distance you might like to stay for 4 hours sewing.
Please contact me if you would like to do this and I will check available places on the later sewing group.

A sewing afternoon from 10.30pm -1.30pm.
Small class of up to 3 people attending.
Making it easy, bring in your own dressmaking pattern and I will help you get started.
Workshop is suitable for beginners learning dressmaking too.
We have easy tops and skirt patterns to choose from if you are not sure.
Dressmaking patterns will be adjusted to fit your body shape.
We look at the pattern pieces required, pinning and cutting out the fabric.
The meaning and importance of pattern markings and symbols.
How to follow the steps of the garment construction and begin to sew.
I can show you how to use an overlocker and we also have a cover stitch machine for you to use too.
For craft work we have a felting machine.
You decide on what you would like to sew.
Sewing other things such as cushion covers, make up bags, tote bags, sewing machine covers, table runners and buntings are also available to do on this 3 hour afternoon workshop.

Workshop Requirements

You will need fabric, we have plenty in store too
Sewing machine, you can bring your own or use one of ours.
If you have a sewing kit please bring it along with you. You will need a sharp pair of scissors, pins and tape measure.
A basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine is essential.
If you require a sewing kit we have them available to purchase too. They include Fiskars Scissors, pins, tape measure and threads, please order prior to your workshop.
We have threads and haberdashery to browse too.

Join us for a focused Project Day from 10.30am – 1.30pm. Designed for a small group of three participants to ensure plenty of individual guidance.

Bring along your own dressmaking pattern and get hands on support to help you get started. You will learn everything from cutting out fabric to understanding pattern symbols and construction techniques.

All sewing machines are provided or you’re welcome to bring your own. You also have the opportunity to learn how to use overlockers and coverstitch machines.
Work at our large central cutting table, plan your project, and enjoy sewing in a relaxed supportive environment with expert guidance throughout.

We also have a lovely selection of fabrics, threads and essential sewing supplies available to help you build your sewing kit.
